I am tired of pressing buttons to hear things in English. Last time I checked we spoke English around this joint. There is a guy at a famous Philly Steak Sandwich shop in Philadelphia who is gettin all kinds of crap for putting a sign up that says, "Orders in English Only." I don't think it's too much to ask. Do you? Anyway, the restaurant is called Gino's. It's has really good Philly Steak sandwiches. English is our language. Deal with it. I hear they speak Spanish fluently in Mexico. Order your food there.
I am also mad at the companies that make you press "1" to hear directions in English. How about tell them to press "2" for directions back to Mexico. I am good with that. Get a dictionary. Take a class. We speak English.
My mom was at the insurance office about 7 years ago. She witnessed
a wreck. She said that when all the dust and cars settled that 14 Mexicans climbed out of a 7 passenger van. Love to have seen that. She said that all but about 4 of the Mexicans ran behind a building across the street. The 4 remained to talk to the officer when he showed up. My mom watched the whole event unfold. When the officer completed his report and left, the 4 Mexicans at the scene jumped in the van, drove to the back of that other building, and picked up the Mexicans who had been hiding behind the building. I am guessing they were illegals. It's a long shot I know. But, I am real perceptive you know.
"So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God's household," (Eph. 2:19).
I have to say that I am not sure what to do with illegal aliens. We certainly can't send them back. They did commit a crime as I see. But, they are here. We chose not to have a system that keeps them out. We did a crappy job. I'll let the government decide what to do. I am really not mad at Mexcians, legal or illega. I just like a funny story.
We however, have been given citizenship in God's house. You and I both were aliens without any rights or any citizenship. We even were sinners. Now, God has pardoned us and given us full rights as heirs to His kingdom and all the benefits that go with it. I am a blessed man. You are a blessed person.
Just think about all the reasons that you think would keep you from knowing Christ. There are plenty. If you can't think of any, call me. I'll help you pick them out. I certainly know that I have many. But because of Christ, God has looked over our faults, sins, and everything that separates us from Him. Wow! He has been good to us.
Each day, we stand in the grace and favor of an incredible God. He holds us in the palm of His tender hand. He watches over us. He cares for us. He loves us unconditionally. I cannot contain the joy that brings to my heart. Just when I want to quit, I realize that He is still working in my behalf for His glory.
I am a citizen of a kingdom, not made by hands. I am an heir to the throne of God. I possess all that His kingdom offers. He is my King, my Deliverer, my Helper, my Savior, my Joy, my Peace, my Father, my friend, my Sacrifice, my Guide.....He is everything to me. "All that thrills my soul is Jesus. He is everything to me."
The truth is, as Christians we have been given a gift that we did not deserve and couldn't get for ourselves. God is good at giving good things.
I love you, your servant, your friend,
Tim
